March 27, (THEWILL) – Martin Odegaard has spoken out about Rodri’s challenge on him during Norway’s Euro 2024 loss to Spain.
The Arsenal captain, who nearly scored in the game, was the victim of a late tackle from the Manchester City midfielder, leaving him grounded and sparking controversy among fans. While many Arsenal fans were quick to accuse Rodri of foul play, Odegaard was careful in his comments, not wanting to face any potential punishment.
Odegaard expressed his disappointment with the challenge, saying, “I’m pretty sure I should have had a penalty. He’s coming with his studs right on my ankle.” However, he chose not to say any more about the incident to avoid any repercussions. “I’m sure I’ll get punished [if I say anymore]. I don’t bother saying anything else about the referee. It’s better not to say anything.”
