APC Underutilising Atiku, We Want Him Back – PDP

SAN FRANCISCO, July 24, (THEWILL) – As the country inches towards the 2019 presidential election, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Adamawa state has set up a committee with the mandate of returning erstwhile vice president, Atiku Abubakar, who had dumped the party on two occasions, to its fold.

Addressing a press conference in Yola, the state chairman of PDP, Alhaji Abdulrahman Bobboi, stated that Atiku should return to PDP where his services were needed, noting that Atiku was being underutilised in the All Progressives Congress, APC.

“Atiku is a founding member of PDP and we want him back; we are not going to give him a breathing space until he comes back as he is currently being underutilised in APC.

“We are going to reach out to him right from his ward to come back to PDP,” the chairman said.

While applauding the Supreme Court verdict which recognised Ahmed Makarfi as the National Chairman, Bobboi said the state will accord the national working committee of the party necessary cooperation with a view of reviving the party to its old glory.

He said that the party, at the state level, would constitute a reconciliation committee under the chairmanship of former Adamawa governor, Boni Haruna to bring back all aggrieved members.

Bobboi explained that other committees to be constituted include congress committee, convention committee, and disciplinary committee, expressing optimism that the PDP would bounce back and wax much stronger.

“It’s now clear to Nigerians that APC, as a political party, did not prepare to rule Nigeria, but unfortunately they wrestled power from PDP without focusing reason the administration is working with K-leg,” he said.
