BEVERLY HILLS, November 13, (THEWILL) – Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Honourable Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has picked up the Presidential nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party he decamped to barely two weeks ago.
Two members of the APC caucus in the House, who were privy to the development, said the caucus purchased the forms on behalf of Tambuwal and delivered it to him Thursday.
The sources who asked not to be named said Tambuwal would formally declare his presidential bid within a matter of days.
Tambuwal’s aide, Imam Imam, Thursday confirmed that the Speaker had received the forms.
Political pundits had expected Tambuwal to seek the governorship ticket of the APC in Sokoto State, his home state.
Tambuwal will challenge main frontrunners for the ticket namely; Former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari; former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; Kano State Governor, Engr. Rabiu Kwankwaso; Newspaper Publisher, Mr. Sam Ndah-Isaiah and Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.
