BEVERLY HILLS, May 27, (THEWILL) – The intense feeling of elation for having successfully wrested Italian club football reign from perennial champions Juventus was still in the air around the new champions Inter Milan when it was abruptly hit by the news of the imminent departure of title-winning manager Antonio Conte.

It was the meticulous and focused implementation of Conte’s ideology that successfully took Inter to the top of Serie A standings, overtaking city rivals AC Milan, and kept them there until the very end to bring the Scudetto back to the club after 11 years without the league trophy.

However, the sweet taste of victory became sour soon after it was revealed to Conte that the club’s financial situation necessitated actions that were at odds with the path that Conte desired to take for the club’s continued progress in the Italian League, as THEWILL reported.

The inevitable consequence was that Conte decided to leave. Acknowledging this change of circumstances, the club put out a statement that read: “FC Internazionale Milano can confirm that an agreement has been reached with Antonio Conte for the termination of his contract by mutual consent.

“The Club would like to thank Antonio for the extraordinary work that he has done, culminating in Inter’s 19th top-flight title. Antonio Conte will forever remain a part of our Club’s history.”

Based on negotiations with their departing victorious manager, Conte will receive almost 7 million euros, half of the remaining year of his contract, as part of the agreement to leave the club that both sides felt was the best for the direction the club was headed.

Going forward, Inter president Steven Zhang will initiate a reduction of the club’s wage bill and will sell key players to cut on expenses. These were not actions Conte could orchestrate given his predisposition to consolidate on their glorious season with a few changes to improve on the winning season.

As a replacement, there is some chatter that Simone Inzaghi, the current manager of the Serie A club Lazio, is the most favourite to replace the trophy winner manager, Conte.
