SAN FRANCISCO, August 07, (THEWILL) – The Anambra state police command says it has arrested suspects involved in the killings at St. Philips Catholic Church in Ozubulu.

Spokesman of the command, Nkeiruka Nwode, made this known on Monday.

She said the suspects, whose identities she refused to reveal, were arrested on Monday insisting the identities of the suspects was very sensitive to the investigation.

“As soon as the investigation is concluded, we will let the public know. But as far as I’m concerned, it definitely has nothing to do with terrorists. It’s just a conflict between individuals,” she stated.

THEWILL recalls that an unidentified gunman, believed to be in search of Aloysius Ikegwuonwu, an indigene of the area, who is based in South Africa, invaded the church during the 6:30 am mass killing at least 12 people while 18 others sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital, Nnewi.

The attack was condemned by Nigerians including the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara. https://thewillnews.com/apc-saraki-dogara-others-condemn-anambra-catholic-church-attack/
