January 01, (THEWILL) – Veteran American actress, Betty White, is dead at the age of 99.
Her death was announced by her agent and close friend, Jeff Witjas, who told People in a statement on Friday, “Betty died peacefully in her sleep at her home early this morning”.
THEWILL writes that the Golden Girls actress who clocks 100 in 17 days, was about to organise a big birthday event which is to be held in collaboration with People Magazine.
“My 100th birthday. I cannot believe it is coming up, and People Magazine is celebrating with me!” she announced via Twitter on Tuesday.
The deceased had featured on the cover story of People Magazine’s December issue where she talked about her successful career, and clocking 100.
