September 13, (THEWILL) – Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has directed the immediate suspension of Managing Director of the Kano State Agricultural Supply Company(KASCO),Dr. Tukur Dayyabu Minjibir, over alleged involvement in an inappropriate sale of grains.
This is contained in a letter dated 12th September,2023, conveyed to the Secretary to the State Government, Dr.Baffa Bichi.
A statement signed and issued to newsmen in Kano on Wednesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor,Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa,quoted the letter as saying that
Minjibir was suspended for alleged “involvement in an inappropriate sale of grains belonging to Kano State Government.”
The statement said Dr. Minjibir had been directed to handover the affairs of the company to the most senior officer immediately, pending the outcome of further investigation.
It said the Governor’s action was part of his commitment to the fight against corruption in the state service.
