April 13, (THEWILL) – Governor Hyacinth Alia condemned the attack on the Makurdi residence of the Member representing Katsina-Ala/Ukum/Logo Federal Constituency, Hon. Solomon Wombo over the weekend.

During the Saturday invasion by yet-to-ascertain persons, the housekeeper was brutalised, leaving him with various degrees of injuries.

In a statement signed by Chief Press, Sir Tersoo Kula, a copy of which was made available in Makurdi, on Monday, noted that the invaders demanded to know Wombo’s whereabouts.

“They also insisted the main flat of the house must be opened for them to search.”

The statement further quotes the Governor as emphasising that his administration will not watch criminals terrorise innocent people in the state, promising to do everything in its power to ensure the suspects are arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.

“Government will offer 10 million naira to anyone that will give useful information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects.”

He charges security agencies to work tirelessly to locate the suspects and bring them to face the full force of the law, while also ensuring greater security and safety for all citizens of the state.

Governor Alia, the statement added, urged Benue people to remain calm, assuring that his administration will not rest on its oars until the state is made free of every form of criminality.

Efforts to get the Police Public Relations Officer for Benue State Command, SP Sewuese Anene, proved abortive as her GSM line was not responding.
