March 17, (THEWILL) – Carlos Alcaraz secured a spot in the semi-finals of Indian Wells with an impressive win over Felix Auger-Aliassime early on Friday.
The Spanish tennis player beat his opponent 6-4 6-4, marking his first victory over the Canadian in four meetings. Alcaraz’s win puts him within two spots of returning to the number one position in the ATP rankings. He will face number 11 seed Jannik Sinner in the next round.
Alcaraz spoke of his pride and satisfaction after his victory, stating that it was one of his best performances so far in 2023. He attributed his success to his aggressive approach, attacking Auger-Aliassime’s second serve and trying to dominate the points.

Alcaraz, who has yet to lose a set at Indian Wells, is looking forward to facing Sinner in the semi-finals. The pair have a 2-2 head-to-head record, and Alcaraz believes it will be a great match for fans to watch.
