November 25, (THEWILL) – Numerous football clubs across the world have been on high alert since the announcement of Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from Manchester United this week, over the controversial Piers Morgan interview.
Given his calibre and recent availability, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner remains a highly sought-after commodity. Saudi Arabia’s Flamengo and Al Hilal, are among the teams lining up to capture the free Portuguese superstar.
Al Hilal is looking into a deal with the Portuguese after he repeatedly turned down a £305 million offer from an undisclosed Saudi Arabian club during the off-season.
The 2022 Copa Libertadores champions are reportedly planning to formalise a proposal to Ronaldo’s agents, albeit neither an offer nor negotiations have officially begun, and there is little to show that Ronaldo will favour a move outside Europe.
Ronaldo scored for Portugal against Ghana on Thursday, to become the first male player to score at five World Cups. Portugal took a 1-0 lead after the 37-year-old striker scored from the penalty spot in the 65th minute. It ended 3-2 in favour of Portugal.
