February 02, (THEWILL) -Ondo state Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has forwarded the names of six persons as Commissioners to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
A statement by Ebenezer Adeniyan, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, said three persons were also appointed as Special Advisers.
However, THEWILL observed that six former cabinet members who served in the administration of late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu were among the Commissioner- nominees and Special Advisers.
Adeniyan listed the Commissioner nominees to include Mrs Omowumi Isaac, Olukayode A. Ajulo, Razaq Obe, Emmanuel Igbasan, Akinwumi Sowore, and Oseni Oyeniyi.
The Special Adviser nominees are Olugbenga Omole, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy; Mrs Olamide Falana, Special Adviser on Gender Affairs and Alabi Johnson, Special Adviser on Energy.
In the Commissioner nominees list, Ajulo was the only one who did not serve in the administration of Akeredolu but got a political appointment under former Governor Olusegun Mimiko. He has been projected to be the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.
Obe, who was the Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, was the cabinet member who raised the alarm that some people had been forging the signature of the late Akeredolu. He has been tipped to take charge of the Ministry of Works.
Also, Obe and Sowore were the two exco members who refused to sign the vote of confidence passed on Akeredolu by the dissolved cabinet.
For the Special Advisers, Omole was the Chairman of the House Committee on Information during the 9th Ondo State House of Assembly but failed to return to the Assembly after losing in the primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while Falana served in Akeredolu’s cabinet in the same capacity.
