June 09, (THEWILL) – Following the recently-conducted primaries that took place in the Imo, the state Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, can be said to have been thrown into pressure by the aggrieved aspirants.

Recall there were lots of All Progressives Congress (APC) contenders for State Assembly, House of Representatives and Senatorial seats for the 2023 election.
Some aspirants that have lost out in the game have expressed their grieviances over the manner, by which the exercise was conducted by the State leadership of the party. Saying Governor Uzodinma has only rewarded his men.
An APC chieftain from Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of the State, Hon. Magnus Anyanwu, in an interaction with our reporter, in Owerri, Wednesday, said he was not satisfied with the system the number one citizen of the State used in producing various candidates in the party.
“Many contenders have been disappointed and their expectations dashed by the said elections, wherein they spent huge amounts of money in the purchase of their interests forms.”
He, therefore, enjoined the aggrieved ones to package their grieviances and join forces in pushing the party forward.
When contacted through mobile telephone calls, the Imo State Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Cajetan Duke, said the party, under the leadership of Hon. Macdonald Ebere, held credible, free and fair primaries in the state.
“The exercise has come and gone, it should not be seen as a do-or-die affair.”
Duke, charged the aggrieved ones not to see the outcome as a fatal loss, but regard it as the party’s arrangements, which should not be used to run APC down.
It would be recalled that former Governor, Ikedi Ohakim, ex-Reps member; Rt. Hon. Matthew Omegara, stepped down for Hon. Patrick Ndubueze, for Imo North Senatorial district, Hon. Alex Mbata won that of Owerri Zone ticket; while former Senator representing Imo West in the Senate, Osita Izunaso, clinched the ticket.
Meanwhile, Ondo State First lady and Imo East Senatorial aspirant, in the just- concluded primary elections, Mrs Betty Akeredolu, has cried foul, over what she described as a manipulated poll; while she has been advised to accept the outcome in good faith.
