February 01, (THEWILL) – Paul Pogba’s long-awaited Juventus debut has been postponed again due to another injury setback.
The French international was expected to make his debut against Lazio in the Coppa Italia, but he has been ruled out due to soreness in his flexors. Manager Massimiliano Allegri confirmed the news ahead of the Lazio game, stating that Pogba will not be available due to the injury.
THEWILL recalls that Pogba returned to Juve as a free agent in the summer of 2022 after leaving Manchester United, but is yet to play for the Bianconeri due to a serious knee injury. He underwent surgery, which ruled him out of the World Cup in Qatar and while he has since returned to training, he is still not fit enough to return.
Although Allegri did not mention a potential return date for Pogba, it has been confirmed that he will miss the Lazio game and could also sit out the upcoming Serie A clash against Salernitana on February 8.
Despite the setback, Pogba was seen waving to the fans as he warmed up before a recent match against Monza, giving fans hope that he will soon be able to make his long-awaited debut for Juventus.
