March 15, (THEWILL) – Just about five days after gunmen, suspected to be bandits, attacked Unguwar Wakili in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State and killed 17 villagers, at least ten persons have been reported killed in a fresh attack on Langson, another community in the same LGA.
Chairman of the local government, Francis Sani, who confirmed the latest incident to newsmen, said the attackers invaded the community around 9 pm on Tuesday, shooting sporadically to scare residents.
They had looted a shop in the area before police operatives repelled them.
Hon Sani, who appealed for calm, however, urged the government to deploy more security personnel to the area to stop the persistent attacks.
National President, Atyap Community Development Association (ACDA), Sam Achie, commended the Mopol in Langson community, who were said to have repelled the attackers.
He called on the people to remain on alert to protect their communities and property against the oppressors, who he said were bent on taking their ancestral land.
