BEVERLY HILLS, November 16, (THEWILL) – The Head of the African Union (AU) on Sunday, declared on Thursday that the body will never accept a military coup d’etat in Zimbabwe.
Alpha Conde, who is also Guinea’s President, made this known in an interview with French journalists in Paris.
Conde admitted that there are internal problems in the country but declared that they needed to be resolved politically and not by the intervention of the army.
“We will never accept the military coup d’etat” in Zimbabwe,” Conde declared.
“We demand respect for the constitution, a return to the constitutional order and we will never accept the military coup d’etat.
“We know there are internal problems. They need to be resolved politically by the ZANU-PF party and not with an intervention by the army.”
