February 09, (THEWILL) – In continuation of the ongoing biennial conference, Pastor Enoch Adeboye and Bishop David Oyedepo, were among eminent clergies that graced the occasion .
While preaching to the congregation, Adeboye said, “To be a conqueror meant God being our battle axe”, adding that Jesus’ victory is for the redeemed, who must hold fast to their confessions.
He emphasised further that “brotherly love, peace and unity”, was needed to maintain the reality of being a conqueror.
The clergy also said that “love is not a one-way drive, but two-way drive”, adding that loving God, as He loves the world, attracts much blessings than envisaged.
More so, that the “evidence of loving God is in our obedience to His words”, adding that nothing can take the place of repentance and conversion to God.
In his brief presentation, the presidential candidate under the platform of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, said appreciable efforts must be made to elect only God-fearing leadership to pilot the affairs of the country, during the forthcoming general elections.
According to him, “Elect only people with impeccable character, who would not expend public funds on frivolities”, adding that public funds must be used to meet the needs of the common man.
He added that “the Church should fervently pray for the deliverance of Nigeria from the hands of the devil and his agents”, that only the will of God might prevail, he stressed.
In a brief interview, Pastor Femi Emmanuel, said that “lack of sufficient political and electoral enlightenment is the reason for bad choice of leadership in the country”, adding that as the bulk of the people live in rural communities, they are victims of deceit.
He revealed that this accounts for the sale of votes that results in corrupt persons in positions of public trust.
More so, that “as the Church is well structured, it holds the key to changing the ugly narrative of the nation’s present reality”, noting that it requires individual leadership to guide and direct their flook into doing the needful.
In a related development, the head of the medical team on ground, Dr Douye Aganaba, said that “so far all persons that needed our services have been adequately taken care of”, adding that everything was fine.
He revealed that a pregnant woman, who was in labour, when taken to the hospital where she had registered, was delivered of her baby.
The doctor further made it known that all that bad symptoms of various medical challenges were promptly attended to, and discharged to join their brethren in the auditorium.
This was followed by various sermons and prayers by different clergymen for God’s blessings upon the nation and its people.
