July 30, (THEWILL) – The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chief Ralph Nwosu, has charged the new State Executive Council in Akwa Ibom to be committed to the party’s ideals to ensure victory in the 2027 general elections.
Nwosu said this during the inauguration of the Akwa Ibom executive council in Uyo on Monday.
He said the party is strategising ahead of the next general elections by electing officers into different offices to run the affairs of the party in the state.
The party’s national chairman said ADC is a grassroots party that should be seen in all the local governments of the federation to bring democracy closer to the people.
“I enjoin the Executive Council and all members to keep the flag of the party flying. We must equip ourselves and be prepared for the 2027 general elections.
“We must ensure women’s participation in the party as we plan for the next general elections. Women membership and active involvement should be prioritised”, he said.
Nwosu commended the party in the state for the completion of the state office to facilitate the administration of the party in the state.
In his inaugural speech, the state chairman, Mr Duke Dick, appreciated the national chairman for his physical presence at the ceremony.
Dick commended the national chairman for elevating the party to an enviable national recognition, adding that he will ensure the presence of the party in all the 31 local government areas of the state.
Speaking on behalf of the women, the state women leader of the party, Ms Julie Esa, restated the commitment of the women of the party, to mobilise the women across the state in preparation for the next general elections.
Highpoint of the event was the inauguration of the state executive council which included among others Messrs Duke Dick – State Chairman, and Ibanga Idongesit – State secretary.
Others are Messrs Stanley Akpan – Akwa Ibom South senatorial district, Imo Frank Essiet – Akwa Ibom North West and Mfon Archibong – Akwa Ibom North East
