BEVERLY HILLS, March 01, (THEWILL) – Former Swede professional veteran and AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to miss at least the next two games as he has sustained another muscle problem.

This comes at a crucial point for Milan who have lost their leadership position in the league table to city rivals Inter and will need all the firepower they can muster to keep up the pursuit of their first Scudetto since the 2010/2011 season.

According to reports monitored by THEWILL, the 39-year-old was one of the players of the Milan side to undergo medical checkups after he, as well as Turkish midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu and Croatian left-winger Ante Rebic, were substituted as a precautionary measure in Sunday’s win over Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.

The medical tests over, Milan have revealed that Ibrahimovic suffered a problem with his adductor muscle, which are a group of muscles mostly used for bringing the thighs together. This represents a blow for the Stefano Pioli side which will be counting on brighter news from a re-evaluation in about ten days with an MRI examination.

In Calhanoglu’s case, tests showed a problem with the medial flexor muscle of the left thigh, which could see him serve some time on the sideline. Just like Ibrahimovic, his condition will be re-evaluated to get a better picture of the impact and how long he will be unavailable.

In some good news for Pioli, Croatian striker Rebic, who came out with a hip problem was spared further injury as the tests showed that he had no problems and should therefore be back for Milan’s next game against Udinese on Wednesday night at Milan’s Studio Giuseppe Meazza.
