September 16, (THEWILL) – Nigeria’s Shehu Abdullahi has joined PFC Levski Sofia, a 26-time champion in Bulgaria, according to a release on the club’s official website.

The Super Eagles defender, who left Omonia Nicosia in June 2022, joins the Bulgarian First League team as a free agent. A one-year contract that is effective through the end of the 2022–2023 season has been reached by both parties.

The 29-year-old won three competitions with Omonia Nicosia throughout the course of his two-year stay, including the Cypriot Super Cup, Cyprian Cup, and Cypriot First Division title. Shehu expressed his delight at joining the football powerhouses of Bulgaria on his Twitter account.

He posted: “I’m honored to join this great team, PFC Levski. The club has got great history & one of the oldest in the country. I want to be part of the club’s history & win titles. I’m excited and I can’t wait to get going. Looking forward to an amazing experience with this amazing group.”

Abdullahi will be eager to assist the Blues in putting up a respectable showing in the Bulgarian Cup and the First Professional Football League. With a total of 15 points from seven games, Levski Sofia are presently in ninth place.
