Abducted Cross River Doctors Regain Freedom

November 22, (THEWILL) – The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Cross River chapter, has confirmed the release of two abducted members of the association.

The doctors, kidnapped at Ekomita along the Calabar-Ikom highway on Friday, were released barely 24 hours after their colleagues began an indefinite strike to demand their rescue.

Dr Felix Archibong, the branch chairman of the association, said their two colleagues were released along with two others on Tuesday.

“I can confirm to you that my two members have been released, they were released with the two other persons abducted with them.

“I want to commend the State Government and security agencies for their efforts. They have given us hope that Nigeria will get better”, he said.
