February 23, (THEWILL) – US rapper, Curtis Jackson, aka 50 Cent, has applauded Nigeria singer, Augustine Miles Kelechi, also known as Tekno, for sampling one of his songs.
Tekno had sampled 50 Cent’s song ‘In Da Club’ in his hit single, ‘Go’. The song was released in July 2017.
The track sampled the famous lines from the American rapper’s 2003 hit single.
In an interview on MSNBC, 50 Cent was played a clip from Tekno’s song, ‘GO’.
The TV host asked how he feels that a Nigerian artiste sampled his song.
In his reply, 50 Cent said he is greatly pleased. He also said it keeps him younger, knowing some people still look up to him.
“That feels great man, it keeps me younger cus they’re still riding out,” he said.
When asked why he thinks young artistes like 21 Savage from Atlanta and Tekno from Nigeria are inspired by him, 50 Cent said it is because they have experienced the real side of life.
50 Cent gained global recognition following the release of ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’.
The project housed hit songs like ‘In Da Club,’ ’21 Questions’ and ‘P.I.M.P’.
