Belgium bizarrely took the lead when Jordan Pickford’s misplaced pass allowed Tielemans to slot home. Ivan Toney equalised from the penalty spot, but Tielemans’ powerful header restored Belgium’s advantage before the break. Gareth Southgate’s injury-hit squad dominated possession but struggled to convert their chances.
The introduction of substitutes injected new life into England’s attack, and Bellingham missed a glorious opportunity before finally levelling the scores deep into stoppage time.
