According to Ibrahim, the pilgrims comprise government and private-sponsored individuals.

The officials of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board welcomed the pilgrims in Makkah and urged them to conduct themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner throughout their stay in the Holy City.

The pilgrims will spend several days in Makkah performing various rituals including circumambulating the Kaaba, praying at the Grand Mosque, and sacrificing animals.

The Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and is considered a once-in-a-lifetime obligation for Muslims who are physically and financially capable of performing it.
