October 21, (THEWILL) – The PBAT/APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council has reorganised key sections of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election machinery, adjusting the leadership of its women and youth mobilisation teams and creating a new directorate as preparations intensify for the 2027 presidential election.
The changes were announced in a statement signed by the Secretary of the Campaign Council and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, following the inauguration of the council.
Under the new arrangement, Dr Mary Aille Idele will head the Directorate of Women Mobilisation, with former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Dr Betta Edu, serving as Deputy Director. Hon. Imaan Suleman was appointed Secretary of the directorate.
The council also named the Minister of Youth Development, Ayo Olawande, as Director of Youth Mobilisation, while Dr Dayo Israel will serve as his deputy.

In an expansion of the campaign structure, the council created a Directorate of Stage Organisation and Management, appointing Dr Farouk Adamu Aliyu as Director and former Osun State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adejare Bello, as Co-Director.
According to the Campaign Council, the adjustments are intended to strengthen its organisational structure, enhance coordination and improve operational efficiency ahead of the presidential election.
It said the reorganisation was part of efforts to build an inclusive and results-driven campaign structure capable of mobilising Nigerians, particularly young people and women, in support of Tinubu’s bid for a second term.
The council expects the appointees to deploy their experience, commitment and organisational abilities in their respective assignments as preparations for the election gather momentum.
It also directed them to work closely with other directorates and relevant campaign structures to ensure the effective implementation of the council’s mobilisation and election strategies.

Background
The latest adjustment comes amid continuing efforts by the ruling All Progressives Congress to fine-tune the political machinery assembled for Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
The APC initially unveiled a 223-member Presidential Campaign Council in August, a list considerably smaller than the 422-member council constituted for the 2023 presidential election.
The composition generated unease within sections of the ruling party, with concerns over the exclusion of some influential figures and political blocs.
THEWILL had exclusively reported on August 24 that Tinubu ordered a review and expansion of the campaign structure following the disquiet.
The subsequently revised council retained former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, as Director-General, while bringing additional political heavyweights into the campaign organisation.
Among the changes were the appointment of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu as Deputy Director-General, South II; Minister of Works, David Umahi, as Deputy Director-General for Infrastructure and Sensitisation; and former Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, as Director of Finance.
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, and Nigeria Revenue Service Chairman, Zacch Adedeji, were assigned fundraising responsibilities, while former Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, joined the structure as an adviser.
Prominent figures in the revised structure included Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo; Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu; former APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje; former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola; and former Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo.
The revised list also assigns important roles to politicians associated with the opposition party, including FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo and his Osun counterpart, Ademola Adeleke.
The revised campaign organisation was inaugurated on October 15, with Tinubu cautioning members against allowing political activities to distract them from governance and their official responsibilities.
Tuesday’s changes represent another attempt to tighten that machinery, particularly its youth and women mobilisation operations, as the ruling party positions itself for what is expected to be a fiercely contested 2027 presidential election.
