Campaign council plans a radio interface to allow Nigerians without internet access to participate.
October 15, (THEWILL) – The African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has unveiled a new citizen-engagement platform that will allow Nigerians to directly question him about his political record, policy proposals, and plans for the country ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The platform, tagged “Ask AA,” is scheduled to go live at 8:30 pm on Thursday, according to a statement issued by the Director of Strategic Communication of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Phrank Shaibu.
The initiative is designed to provide Nigerians with a direct channel to engage the former Vice-President on critical national issues, including the economy, security, technology, job creation and measures to reduce the cost of living.
According to the campaign council, Atiku will personally respond to questions submitted through the platform, while members of his media team will also assist in providing answers.
Shaibu said the initiative was designed to bridge the information gap between Atiku and the electorate by allowing citizens to seek direct explanations about his record, positions and policy proposals.
“The objective of this initiative is to bring Atiku Abubakar closer to the electorate through a practical, problem-solving platform,” he said.
He added that the initiative reflected Atiku’s commitment to using modern technology to make governance more efficient, secure and effective.
The campaign council also disclosed plans to introduce a radio interface that would enable Nigerians in communities without internet access to participate.

‘No Filters, No Intermediaries’
Announcing the platform on his social media accounts, Atiku said he conceived the initiative because he believes leadership should involve direct communication between elected leaders and the people.
“For too long, governance has felt distant—locked behind walls of bureaucracy. But our country’s greatest resource isn’t oil or land; it is our people. If we are going to build the Nigeria of our dreams, we must start by tearing down the walls between leaders and the people,” he said.
Atiku described “Ask AA” as a platform for transparency, accountability and dialogue, saying Nigerians would be free to question his economic record, examine his policy plans and offer suggestions on national development.
“No filters, no intermediaries,” he said.

The former Vice-President also disclosed that he would personally call selected participants who provide their contact details through the platform.
“Beyond answering questions here, I will personally call selected citizens who leave their contact details so I can hear directly about their experiences and the issues affecting their daily lives,” he said.
Atiku urged Nigerians to participate by submitting questions and recommendations, saying a technology-driven and transparent government should begin with the way leaders listen to citizens.
Background
Atiku, who served as Vice-President from 1999 to 2007, has sought the presidency several times and is now the presidential candidate of the ADC for the 2027 election.
The launch of “Ask AA” comes as political parties and presidential contenders intensify preparations for the 2027 election.
The initiative gives Atiku an opportunity to directly engage voters on his political record and proposed solutions to Nigeria’s economic and security challenges, while also allowing citizens to raise concerns and demand explanations on issues they consider important.
By promising direct responses and personal telephone conversations with selected participants, Atiku is positioning the platform as more than a conventional campaign website.
The ADC campaign council said the initiative would remain focused on practical engagement with Nigerians, including those who may be excluded from internet-based political discussions.
