August 21, (THEWILL) — The Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied reports that its 2027 governorship candidate, Tijani Galadima, snubbed the unveiling of President Bola Tinubu’s presidential campaign in Yola.
The party also dismissed speculation that Galadima’s absence from the event was linked to an alleged plan to replace him as the APC governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
Adamawa APC spokesman, Dogo Victor, said Galadima was in Abuja attending an official party meeting when the presidential campaign unveiling took place in Yola.
According to him, the Abuja meeting had been scheduled before the timetable for the presidential campaign unveiling was released, making Galadima’s attendance necessary.
“Our next governor, Alhaji Tijani Galadima, was attending a party meeting in Abuja when the presidential campaign unveiling was held in Yola,” Victor said.
He explained that other party leaders also attended the Abuja meeting because it was part of the APC’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.
“The Abuja meeting was slated before the presidential campaign unveiling timetable was released, so Galadima and other party leaders had to attend the Abuja meeting, since both the meeting and the flag-off are part of strategies for the APC to win the 2027 general elections,” he said.
Victor dismissed suggestions that the absence reflected division within the party or uncertainty over Galadima’s candidacy.
“Adamawa APC is too strong for street mischief professionals to distract it with paperweight allegations. We are united and good to go,” he said.

The clarification came as the Adamawa APC commenced its presidential and National Assembly electioneering campaign in the state on Wednesday ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The campaign event, however, recorded a low turnout and was marked by protests from some members of the crowd.
Addressing party supporters at the ceremony, Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Kaletapwa Farauta, called on voters to support President Tinubu and other APC candidates contesting the presidential, National Assembly and other elective positions.
Farauta said the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration were beneficial to Nigerians, arguing that the President deserved re-election to consolidate efforts to stabilise the country’s economy.
Her speech was, however, repeatedly interrupted by some members of the audience who complained about hunger and insecurity. The protesters called for leaders capable of addressing the economic hardship and security challenges confronting residents.
Farauta urged party supporters to remain united and work collectively to translate the campaign into electoral victory.
Other APC chieftains who spoke at the event expressed confidence that Tinubu and other APC candidates in Adamawa would win the 2027 general elections.
