April 27, (THEWILL) – Chief Victor Bala Kona on Tuesday, promised that if elected as the next Governor of Taraba state, he will run an all inclusive government.
The Gubernatorial hopeful, made this promise in Jalingo while officially declaring his intentions to run for the number one seat of Taraba, under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Victor Bala, who noted that the Governor Ishaku-led administration under the PDP has achieved remarkable feats, especially in the area of Infrastructural development, said they will do all it takes to maintain the grip of the party in Taraba and also carry each and everyone along in the process.
“Our desire is to further consolidate the grip of the PDP in Taraba politics and translate such control into meaningful and giant development strides in line with the party policy of political inclusion and infrastructural development.
“As a core party man, I will run an all-inclusive government, if elected. Note that set goals are only achievable when people are involved in such a way they can clearly see the vision and that will motivate them to build confidence in our collective effort to achieve those lofty goals.
“I am a thoroughbred politician, born and raised in Taraba. I understand the issues and I know where the shoe pinches. I connect easily to the grassroot and I can speak their language”, he said.
As part of his agenda, Victor bala Kona assured that he will harness the resources available both human and natural to boost the social and economic capacity of the state.
He, however, said that it is a task that requires vast knowledge of the terrain, politics and politicians.
In his words, “Taraba is blessed with abundant resources both in human and material terms, we have no business with poverty, all that is required is the political will to harness those abundant resources for the betterment of Taraba state.
“We shall focus on key development areas such as Education, Agriculture, Health, Provision of Infrastructure and of course, the provision of security of lives and properties of Tarabans wherever they may be.
“This task no doubt requires some level of capacity, competence and strength of character, above all, it requires experience and very insightful understanding of politics and politicians which I possess.”
Chief Victor Bala advised Tarabans to put away their differences, ensure justice and equity, give each and every one a sense of belonging, regardless of ethnic or religious background, that according to him is the only way peace and development can reign.
THEWILL gathered that Chief Victor Bala Kona was the State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), a position he held for two successful tenures.
