2 Die In Ogun Truck To Truck Collision

December 01, (THEWILL) – A truck laden with granite has killed two persons in Mowe, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway of Ogun state.

The auto crash involved the truck, which had no registration number, and another truck (Hanvan lowberg) with registration number WDE 79XB.

An eyewitness account said the accident was caused by the truck loaded with granite which lost control and rammed into the other truck.

Spokesperson of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident to newsmen in a statement in Abeokuta

Akinbiyi said the driver of the granite-loaded truck had a brake failure, lost control of the vehicle, and ran into the other truck, resulting in the death of two persons.

He explained that three occupants (three males) were involved in the crash, two people died while no one sustained injuries.

The TRACE PRO said that his officials and that of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the police were on ground for rescue operations.

Akinbiyi said the two corpses had been deposited at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) morgue.

He added that the vehicles have been handed over to Sagamu Police Command and traffic has returned to normalcy.
