July 07, (THEWILL) – Inter Milan have confirmed the signing of Polish international, Piotr Zielinski, on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Napoli. The 30-year-old midfielder has agreed to a four-year deal with the reigning Serie A champions.
Zielinski joins Inter after a successful eight-year stint at Napoli, where he made 364 appearances and played a crucial role in their 2022/2023 Scudetto-winning campaign. The Polish star arrived at Napoli in 2016 for €16 million after spells with Udinese and Empoli.
Upon signing for Inter, Zielinski expressed his excitement about joining one of the world’s top clubs. He pledged to give his all for the fans and contribute to bringing more trophies to the club. The midfielder also praised the Inter supporters and the iconic San Siro stadium.
Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi will be looking to integrate Zielinski into his squad as they aim to defend their Serie A title and compete in other competitions. The Polish international’s experience and skill set are expected to bolster Inter’s midfield options for the upcoming 2024/2025 season.
The Nerazzurri are not stopping with Zielinski, as they are also set to welcome former Porto striker, Mehdi Taremi, on a free transfer. Additionally, reports suggest that Genoa goalkeeper, Josep Martinez, is close to joining Inter in a deal worth approximately €13 million.
