The world and Olympic champion noted that athletes are as good as the work they put in during training.

“I’m really pleased with what I saw in training today, they look ready, however, they’re still room for improvement.

“I’ve always said that athletes are as good as their training and I must applaud the officials who are working tirelessly to ensure the athletes represent the Nation optimally.”

Also, the head of the team officials, coach Akuh Purity, expressed satisfaction with the reaction of the Wrestlers to training so far since they started camping ahead of the African Games.

According to the level 3 IOC coach, the camping has aided the coaching team to closely monitor the athletes, especially their diet and other important elements pivotal to their overall athleticism.

“To be frank the Nigeria Wrestling Federation doesn’t wait for camp like this, we’ve been training because we started our season a while ago so this camping is just for final preparation.

“And I must that the athletes have been doing really well, the environment okay, the feeding is normal because one of the most important aspects we are careful about is the diet so we’re good to go”.

“By the grace of God with the level of our training and commitment and of course preparation like I said earlier Wrestling will win multiple golds for Team Nigeria at the African Games”
