Wis-South Security Conducts Passing Out Parade For Trainees

August 15, (THEWILL) – Wis-South Security Ltd has conducted a Passing Out Parade for over 200 trainees at its Corporate Headquarters in Ekeki, Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

The Director of Operations, Chief Apaingolo Womotimi Gabriel, in his welcome address, charged the graduating trainees to work fervently with the existing workforce and bring to bear the skills and experience they have acquired from the training to protect critical national assets in the Niger Delta.

He informed that the graduates, based on the training they have undergone are now change agents and urged them to key into the mandate of Wis-South Security Ltd, saddled with the responsibility of securing the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd facilities and fighting against pipeline vandalisation, oil theft and bunkering, and other related criminal activities in the Niger Delta.

Chief Gabriel hinted that to achieve the desired goal and success to stamp out crime and criminality to protect NNPCL facilities, adding that it is incumbent on them to collaborate with traditional rulers, CDC, youth leaders of various communities and other security agencies.

He noted that the efforts of Wis-South Security Ltd have shored up daily oil production to over 100 million barrels.

The Director of Operations thanked the Officers of the Nigerian Army, Navy, Police, Nigerian Security And Civil Defence Corps for collaborating with Wis-South Security Ltd and lauded Governor Douye Diri for using his good offices to support the fight against oil theft and bunkering in the region.

He praised the graduating trainees for exhibiting great courage and discipline to complete the training and also inspected the parade.

The Chief Executive Officer of Wis-South Security Ltd, Chief Wisdom Joseph Owo, represented by the Director of Treasury, Warrant Officer Owortimi Bonus, in his speech, while commissioning the graduating trainees which served as the closing remarks, commended the trainees for understanding the drills and their excellent performance within the three months of the training.

Warrant Officer Owortimi, who is a serving Military Intelligence Officer, noted that the NSCDC officers who trained them were trained by the military and urged the graduands to imbibe discipline, loyalty, respect, integrity and patriotism which he stated are the hallmarks of the military in the service of the nation.

He advised them not to compromise, avoid corrupt practices and portray the company in a positive light, while discharging their duties.

On his part, the Director of Public Relations And Information of Wis-South Security Ltd, John Etekpe, read the oath of office to the graduates and enjoined them not to resort to strike, court action and violence to enforce their rights.

He emphasised that the just concluded training was conceived to strengthen the workforce of Wis-South Security Ltd, to secure NNPCL facilities in the Niger Delta and warned mischievous elements who tempers or carry out acts of sabotage to keep off the facilities as those caught will be decisively dealt with according to the full weight of the law

He thanked the Director of Training, Badom Gabriel, for the drills and the discipline inculcated in the graduating trainees and charged them to bring credibility and honour to the company.

John Etekpe also expressed gratitude to everyone for finding time to grace the occasion.
