August 16, (THEWILL) – Willian, the 36-year-old Brazil international, announced his departure from Fulham on Friday after two years with the English Premier League club. The former Arsenal and Chelsea player’s one-year contract extension, signed last year, has now expired.

During his time at Fulham, Willian made 58 EPL appearances and scored nine goals. He played a key role in Fulham’s 2-1 victory against Chelsea in January 2023, helping the club secure their first league win over their West London rivals in 17 years.

In a statement on Instagram, Willian expressed his gratitude to Fulham, saying: “I would like to thank Fulham for a wonderful two years. It was special to return to the Premier League and be part of this historic club and the amazing fans. I have had incredible moments and this club will always be in my heart.”

Reports in British media suggest that Willian might be considering a move to Saudi Arabia, although no official confirmation has been made regarding his future plans. The left winger and attacking midfielder’s departure comes as Fulham prepare to begin their EPL campaign against Manchester United.

Willian’s exit marks the end of his second stint in the EPL, following his previous spells with Chelsea and Arsenal. His experience and skill on the pitch made him a valuable asset for Fulham during his time with the club.
