April 21, (THEWILL) – Talented music act, Akorede Okunola, popularly known as Saheed Osupa, has revealed the reason behind his decision to return to the University to study Political Science.
In an interview with Punch newspaper, the Fuji artiste stated that it was his mother’s wish for him to be educated. That was why he went back to school to study at the University of Ibadan.
Stating further, he said on a personal note, he also desired education and his efforts will show that Fuji musicians can fit into any setting.
“I thank the almighty God for his grace over my life, family and fans all over the world. My going back to school was not accidental, as it still goes with my mother’s wish for me. I have always desired to seek more knowledge by going back to school.
“Meanwhile, I also want to prove to the world that musicians, particularly Fuji artistes, can fit into any setting and organisation. Truly, I have achieved a lot as a music entertainer, but I still need to equip myself the more, while also preparing for the future.”
While speaking on the choice of course he studied at the University, the artiste revealed that he chose Political Science to enhance his knowledge, since he often sings about leadership and philosophy. He also revealed that he is not planning to go into politics for now.
“My love for good governance made me choose Political Science. As an artiste, who sings a lot about leadership and philosophy, I believe studying such a course would enhance my knowledge. I currently don’t have plans to go into politics, but let us see what the future holds.”
