Vote APC During LG Polls – Nwifuru Tells Ikwo Residents

July 04, (THEWILL) – The Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, has called on the people of Ikwo to vote massively for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the July 20 local government elections in the state.

Represented by his Deputy, Patricia Obila, the Governor gave the charge during the APC rally in Ikwo LGA.

Nwifuru noted that the people of Ikwo have been supportive of his government and should extend it to the council chairman, Sunday Nwankwo.

The Governor thanked the stakeholders and youth of Ikwo Noyo for maintaining peace and announced that he was working to restore peace between the Ikwo and Abi people in the Cross River boundary dispute, adding that his government was on consolidation.

Obila disclosed that her office has petitioned the NBC on the need for the boundary demarcation and expressed hope that very soon, total peace will return.

She commended the Chairman for his leadership style, and effective implementation of the Governor Nwifuru People’s Charter of Needs mantra, and urged him to continue to work in synergy with stakeholders of the local government.

Speaker Moses Odunwa, on his part, urged the people to continue to support the ruling party.

Also speaking, the State APC Chairman, Stanley Okoro Emegha, commended Ikwo for mobilising for the party and called on other council chairmen to emulate Ikwo.

Emegha, who urged the people to vote for the APC during the council election on July 20, said: “Ebonyi State democracy is working, the government is working, and APC is working for the development of the people. Ebonyi is a progressive family, and I enjoin other parties to join the progressive body.”

Sunday Nwankwo, the council chairman, in his remarks, said he would carry the mandate of the Governor with sanctity and thanked the people for their support.
