June 7, (THEWILL)- Jamie Vardy has committed his future to Leicester City by signing a new contract that runs until June 2025. The 37-year-old striker was instrumental in the Foxes’ promotion-winning Championship campaign last season, scoring 18 goals.

Vardy’s new deal means he will play at least one more season in the English Premier League with Leicester. The former England international famously fired the club to the 2015/2016 EPL title against all odds and won the Golden Boot in 2019/2020.

Despite his advancing years, Vardy showed no signs of slowing down, netting 20 times across all competitions in 2023/2024. “My legs feel fine so that’s why I carry on until my legs say ‘That’s it, game over’,” said Vardy. “There will be a day when that comes, but that’s not right now.”

Leicester’s talisman is relishing the chance to test himself in the top flight again after a season’s absence. “We look forward to another season in the Premier League and seeing what we can do. One hundred percent, it’s the best league in the world. That’s where you want to be playing your football,” Vardy stated.

Vardy retired from international duty in 2018 after making 26 appearances and scoring 7 goals for England. His focus now is firing Leicester to top-flight safety next term.
