The governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma has appointed renowned Theatre Practitioner, activist and Nollywood movie director, Onwuasoanya FCC Jones as his Special Adviser on Public Communication. FCC Jones, a former State Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress is a respected media strategist and publicist who had at various times served as Director of Media and Publicity and Director of Strategic Communication to different governorship candidates and also to the Peter Obi Support Network, a frontline Independent Support group to the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections.
He holds a Master degree in Theatre Arts from the Imo State University, Owerri, and is currently case studying the works of Alex Asigbo and Emeke Nwabueze for his doctorate dissertation on the topic; Dramatics and Governance: The role of Theatre in Entrenching Rule of Law. He has written, directed and produced many classic Nollywood movies, including, but not limited to; ‘Hairs and Heirs,’ ‘All Alone,’ ‘In-tangled,’ ‘Adagu,’ ‘Cheating Back,’ and many others. He has contributed to academic journals and also published some stage plays and poetry collections, including; ‘Rebels For A Reason,’ ‘Our Duty,’ ‘Emotional Creations,’ ‘Subsidy’ and other creative works.
FCC Jones is a member of the Association of Movie Producers (AMP), Theatre Scholarship, Society of Nigerian Theatre Artistes (SONTA) among other professional and cultural associations. He is also the Deputy National Youth Leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide. The theatre impresario and communication expert has expressed gratitude to the governor for the appointment, promising to bring his wealth of experience to bear in promoting the good works of the 3R administration.
