Uduaghan Expresses Faith In Success Of National Identity Card Project

SAN FRANCISCO, July 10, (THEWILL) – Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan has expressed confidence in the ability of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to successfully deliver on the mandate of producing a national identity card for every citizen in the country.

Governor Uduaghan who registered on Thursday alongside his wife, Roli, his son, Toju and the wife of his Deputy, Dr Nelly Utuama at Government House, Asaba, praised the commission for capturing every necessary data in the registration form.

“There is no doubt that this exercise is challenging as people had doubt if it will succeed but, with these details and from what I have seen of the exercise, it will be a success,” the Governor said, assuring, “we will give you all the support at the state and the local
government levels.”

He added: “We will mobilize our people for this exercise to succeed in Delta State.”

The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer NIMC, Mr. Chris Onyemenam who personally supervised the registration of the Governor ruled out double registration, explaining that tracking devices would be embedded on the permanent card to be issued.

Dr. Uduaghan, who was accompanied on the exercise by his aides, was later presented with the transaction and confirmation slips.
