June 22, (THEWILL) – Flying Eagles coach, Ladan Bosso, has firmly denied allegations of accepting bribes to include players in his squads for national team commitments.
Bosso, who is also the President of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association, addressed the issue of discipline among Nigerian coaches and the importance of providing them with a conducive environment to thrive. Expressing his satisfaction with his team’s achievements, Bosso highlighted their victories over Argentina and Italy in the 2023 FIFA Under-20 World Cup.
Bosso firmly asserted that he has never compromised his integrity as he stressed the need for the Nigeria Football Federation to offer unwavering support to coaches. In a recent interview, he said: “I’m able to do my job without compromising. Nobody can say that gave me anything to be a part of the team.
“That’s why I say that the Federation needs to provide all the support that our coaches need. We were able to defeat Italy, which no other Nigerian team had achieved before. We also beat Argentina in their home ground for the first time.”
The coach felt the need to be outspoken about the subject amidst speculation that he is being considered as a potential replacement for Salisu Yusuf for the position of the U23 national team coach. The U23 team failed to secure a spot in the CAF U23 Africa Cup of Nations, which determines Africa’s representatives at the 2024 Olympics Football event in Paris.
