August 12, (THEWILL) – Two persons have been confirmed dead and one other injured in an auto crash that occurred on Monday, along the long bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway corridor of Ogun State.

Involved in the crash were a Mazda bus with registration number EDE217XB and a MAN diesel truck with registration number AJL715XA.

Spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), Ogun State, Florence Okpe, confirmed this to newsmen in a statement on Monday, in Abeokuta, the state capital.

Okpe attributed the cause of the accident to road obstruction and fatigue on the part of the driver.

She said that three persons (all males) were involved in the auto crash, adding that while one person sustained injuries, the remaining two died instantly.

The Chief Superintendent Route Commander said that the injured person had been taken to Hopeland Hospital, Warewa, while the corpses had been deposited at the Real Divine Hospital morgue in Ibafo.

She added that obstruction had also been cleared off the road and the free flow of traffic restored.

The Sector Commander, FRSC, Ogun Sector Command, CC Akinwumi Fasakin, sympathised with the families of the crash victims.

Fasakin also advised motorists to always be alert while driving as well as observe some rest to avoid fatigue or sleep off while driving.
