January 30, (THEWILL) – Troops of the Joint Task Force, North West Operation HADARIN DAJI (OPHD), have rescued thirty-five kidnapped victims and neutralised two suspected terrorists in Katsina State, in a search and rescue operation.
A statement issued by the Information Officer of Operation Hadarin Daji, Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, said the feat was achieved on January 27, 2024, during a clearance operation in some identified suspected terrorist camps at Dumburum forest.
Ibrahim explained that during the operation, the troops had an encounter with the armed terrorists, where they neutralised two while others escaped with severe gunshot wounds.
The rescued victims include; nineteen males and twelve females as well as four children, who were immediately handed over to the Katsina State government officials, by the Commander of 17 Brigade, Nigerian Army/Sector 2 Operation HADARIN DAJI, Brigadier General OA Fadairo.
