April 21, (THEWILL) – Tottenham Hotspur’s Managing Director of Football, Fabio Paratici, has resigned from his position after being suspended from club activities due to a global football ban.
The ban was imposed on him earlier this month after he was considered one of the masterminds behind Juventus’ financial mismanagement over the last decade. Despite Juventus managing to overturn a 15-point deduction in Serie A, Paratici’s 30-month ban was upheld.
In a statement, Tottenham confirmed that Paratici resigned from his role due to the worldwide ban preventing him from fulfilling his duties. The statement read: “Fabio has consequently taken the decision to resign from his position at the Club with immediate effect to focus on his legal position in respect of the FIGC and FIFA rulings.”
Tottenham Chairman, Daniel Levy, stated that they wanted to ensure due process was followed and wished Paratici well.
This news comes after Tottenham announced the appointment of Scott Munn as Chief Football Officer to lead all departments in a restructuring of their football operations. The club plans to continue strengthening their football functions over the coming months.
