Tinubu Charges Public Service To Be Committed To Duty

August 12, (THEWILL) – President Bola Tinubu has charged the Nigerian public service to be more committed to duty in accordance with the Civil Service rule.

The President gave this charge on Monday, at a brief valedictory session held in honour of the outgoing Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoCSF), Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan, ahead of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the State House, Abuja.

He lauded Yemi-Esan’s “exceptional tenure”, saying she served with distinction and significant transformation of the Nigerian public service.

The President, who urged public service officers to learn from Yemi-Esan, said public officeholders must learn from her commitment to duty, loyalty and great vision.

“Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan must be thanked for her very exceptional tenure as the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and we must learn from her more commitment to duty, loyalty and great vision.

“She served our nation exceptionally well with more commitment to duty, loyalty and great vision with distinction, guiding the Civil Service rule with significant transformation and reforms,” he said.

President Tinubu further extolled her dedication and transparency to the service, adding that it has enhanced professionalism and set high standards for public administration in Nigeria.

“Her dedication to enhancing efficiency, transparency and professionalism has set a high standard for public administration in Nigeria. As she steps down, we express our deep gratitude for her unwavering commitment and the significant impact she has made in our country,” he said.

Responding, Yemi-Esan, who will finally exit office on Wednesday, advised government workers to always place the progress of the nation first ahead of other interests.

She added that with that, Nigeria would attain the greatness proposed for it.
