SAN FRANCISCO, March 06, (THEWIL) – A suicide bomber with explosive devices strapped around his body has detonated himself at a crowded area in Muna-Datti community of Maiduguri, Borno State killing three persons in the process and injuring 17 others.
The Police in that state on Tuesday confirmed the death of three Civilian Joint Task Force members in the attack which occurred on Monday night.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Joseph Kwaji, in a statement, confirmed the attack and the casualty figures.

“On Monday, March 3 at about 2030hrs, a male suicide bomber riding on a bicycle detonated IED strapped to his body at Muna Datti area, killing himself and Three Civilian JTF members while 17 people were injured,” Kwaji said in the statement.
He said the victims of the attack have been evacuated to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital adding that normalcy had already been restored in the area.
He also revealed that following the development, the Explosive Ordinance Device and patrol teams have visited the scene for an on-the-spot assessment.
