TG Omori Opens Up On Battle With Kidney Failure

August 28, (THEWILL) – Music director, ThankGod Omori, popularly known as TG Omori, has opened up on his battle with kidney failure.

The 29-year-old celebrity cinematographer took to X to reveal that he required a kidney transplant to be able to stay alive.

Omori said his only brother volunteered one of his kidneys.

The video director added that the kidney transplant was held on August 26, 2024.

According to him, his only brother donated one of his kidneys to him so that he could have another chance in life.

With tears rolling down his cheek, he wrote on his Instagram page, “Yesterday, my only brother gave me one of his kidneys so I could live again. Keep my spirit alive. I don’t wanna die.”

The music producer, who has been away from the public for some time now, shared the picture of him crying on the hospital bed while receiving oxygen.

Although he has been making cryptic tweets about his health before the recent transplant.

Last month, the award-winning music producer wrote on his X handle, “If I cross your mind, sometimes say a prayer for me. Poor marijuana, they blame you for all my rasclaat. You wanna eat, I wanna live.”

Omori wrote: “keep my spirit alive” and “I don’t want to die”.

Born in Cross-River state, Omori grew up in the Agungi area of Lagos state.

He started his career at age 20 after graduating from PEFTI Film Institute.

He has since worked with a plethora of artistes in Nigeria, including Olamide, Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.

Last year, Omori revealed that he battled depression for a year after failing the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in 2012.
