Terrorists Release Abducted Passenger Of Kaduna-Bound Train Sadiq Abdullahi

May 01, (THEWILL) – Terrorists, who attacked and abducted some passengers of the Kaduna-bound train, have released Sadiq Ango Abdullahi.

Sadiq is the son of the Chairman of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Professor Ango Abdullahi.
Family sources told newsmen that Sadiq was released on Friday, after yet to be disclosed amount was paid as ransom to the terrorists.

The police were yet to react to the development.
THEWILL reports that terrorists had on 29th March, 2022, bombed the Abuja-Kaduna rail tracks and attacked a train filled with passengers.

The 6pm train, which took off from Idu Train Station at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), reportedly hit an explosive device about 30 minutes to Rigasa train station in Kaduna.

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), had said 398 passengers bought tickets for the trip, but only 362 were validated as having boarded the train.

Eight passengers including Trade Union Congress (TUC) Secretary-General, Musa Ozigi-Lawal, TUC Kwara State chapter Chairman Akin Akinsola, National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) director at Kaduna office, Abdul Isa Kofar-Mata and a dentist, Dr Chinelo Nwando, were confirmed killed and 41 others, injured.

Latest reports as shown in the photographs released by the terrorists confirmed 68 passengers, including 41 women, 22 men and five children were abducted.

The terrorists had only released Alwan Ali Hassan, the Managing Director/Chief Executive of Bank of Agriculture (BoA).

With the latest release of Sadiq, two of the hostages have so far regained freedom, leaving 67 others and a baby girl delivered by one of the abducted women in the terrorists den.
