Tech Skills Programme To Generate 50,000 Jobs In Benue – Consultant

June 11, (THEWILL) – The ongoing training Tech Skills Programme is expected to generate over 50,000 jobs in Benue state, in the near future.

The Lead Consultant of the programme, Engr Jeffrey Udende, while assessing the training session in Makurdi, commended Governor Hyacinth Alia for availing Benue youths the opportunity to develop themselves.

According to him, what the Benue State government is doing, is not just training the youths, but those who have done it successfully and have no jobs will be given jobs.

“We are training 10,000 youths physically and online. We created the online classroom because of those who applied and went for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).”

He pointed out that the good thing about the training is that jobs are changing and it is the first in Nigeria that the Government is giving the youths intensive digital ICT training.

The Consultant, who scored participants high in the training, noted that plans are underway to export the talents before the end of the training period because all participants are getting on well and will get jobs.

In his remarks, the Training Consultant, Samson Igoche noted that the training is an initiative of the state government and it is to get beneficiaries to start developing local content.

According to Mr Igoche, after the training received, Benue youth will be launched into the global economy.

Some trainees at the session thanked the Benue state government for the opportunity to improve their livelihood

Mr Peter Gbam and Joy Orkuma, all noted that Cyber Security is one of the courses that has global demand and it comes with several opportunities.
