July 13, (THEWILL) – Inter Milan have signed Iranian striker, Mehdi Taremi, on a free transfer from FC Porto. The Serie A champions announced the deal on Saturday, with Taremi joining on a three-year contract.

The 31-year-old becomes Inter’s first Iranian player in the club’s history. Taremi expressed his excitement about moving to Serie A, describing it as “one of the most prestigious leagues in the world” and vowing to give his best for his new team.

Taremi spent the last four seasons with Porto, establishing himself as a key player for the Portuguese side. He now looks to make his mark in Italian football as Inter aim to defend their Serie A title in the upcoming 2024/2025 campaign.

The Iranian international brings a wealth of experience to Inter’s attack as they prepare for domestic and European challenges next season. His free transfer represents smart business for the Serie A champions in the summer transfer market.
