The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has suffered a major infrastructure setback after heavy rainfall caused the collapse of three transmission towers along the Karu-Keffi-Akwanga 132 Kilo Volt (kV) transmission line corridor.

A public announcement issued to customers on Thursday, September 3, said the outage was necessary to enable TCN’s technical team to safely execute critical work at the transmission facility.

The declaration followed the collapse of towers T109, T110 and T111 at Chibike Village, with TCN attributing the incident to heavy rainfall and a windstorm in the area.
