April 15, (THEWILL) – Tottenham Hotspur’s interim coach, Cristian Stellini, has blamed his team’s mindset for their late defeat against Bournemouth.
Stellini spoke out about his players’ individual problems after Spurs fell to a 3-2 loss against the Cherries, after dominating for much of the game. Son Heung-min had put Spurs ahead, but mistakes from Davinson Sanchez and Pedro Porro, allowed Bournemouth to level the score and then take the lead.
Sanchez was criticised by the home fans, but Stellini defended the Colombian defender and said he would consider playing him again in the future. Stellini pointed out that it was not just Sanchez who was at fault, but the whole team needed to change their mindset in order to avoid conceding easy goals.
As THEWILL reported, Tottenham missed out on the chance to move level on points with third-placed Newcastle, but they will have the opportunity to bounce back when they take on Newcastle on Sunday.
