October 04, (THEWILL) – Tottenham Hotspur striker Son Heung-min will miss the upcoming English Premier League fixture against Brighton and Hove Albion due to a hamstring injury, manager Ange Postecoglou, confirmed during Friday’s press conference.

The South Korean international sustained the injury during Tottenham’s UEFA Europa League match against Qarabag on September 26. The 32-year-old forward has additionally withdrawn from South Korea’s World Cup qualifying matches scheduled for October.

On Friday, the Korea Football Association announced that Son would not participate in fixtures against Jordan on October 10 and Iraq on October 15, prioritising his recovery and physical condition. Fortunately, positive news emerged for Spurs regarding defender Destiny Udogie, who missed Thursday’s 2-1 victory at Ferencvaros in the Europa League.

Postecoglou indicated the player should return following a right quad injury sustained during their 3-0 triumph at Manchester United last weekend. The manager emphasised the importance of monitoring Udogie’s progress through upcoming training sessions.

Tottenham approached their EPL clash with Brighton following five consecutive victories across all competitions. Their previous visit to Brighton in December 2023 resulted in a 4-2 defeat. The current Brighton side enters the match having collected nine points from six games, most recently experiencing a 4-2 loss against Chelsea.
